I'll copy here what I put on Facebook earlier today...
Yesterday, Hillary Clinton asked this question regarding events in Libya:
“How could this happen in a country we helped to liberate, in a city we helped to save from destruction?”
Here’s my response:
“For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God” (Romans 13 v 2)
Whatever is thought about the former leaders of Iraq, Egypt and Libya (and those wh...o are familiar with kings of Israel such as Manasseh will know that they were certainly not saints, yet God allowed Manasseh to rule for 55 years!) it is becoming more evident that one aspect of the rule of these leaders was to suppress the kind of activity that is now being manifested. The West has supported the removal of these leaders. What has happened since? The Muslim Brotherhood have come to the fore in Egypt, and rather than a ‘western-style’ democracy being implemented in these countries, there is a desire to implement Shari’a law from many! There has also been a significant increase of persecution of Christians.
Some of my prayer points include these:
• Prayer for the family of the United States ambassador to Libya, and the families of the others who were killed
• Prayer for Christians in Libya in particular, but in the Middle East and beyond.
• Prayer that the God that the Democratic Party were so keen to remove mention of in their three day national convention will be acknowledged, and His wisdom sought.
