Sickness Is Just A Temptation?

I caught about 2 mins of Dr Laura on RTV this afternoon, and I could be very wrong, so please let me make that clear, but she was talking about sickness and standing on the word of God about it (ie: speaking scriptures of healing etc) and I am sure she made reference to *sickness being a temptation*.

She then went on to say how her mum had bought her a Kenneth and Gloria Copeland cd and that had helped her(which would fit doctrinally as they are very name it and claim it ref: health etc).

I was a bit taken aback to be honest, is it possible that anyone could believe that sickness is just a temptation? ie: you only get sick if you give in to it? (unless of course chocolate is a sickness, I can get that! LOL)

How does that concept fit in with the biblical idea of disease/death being a direct result of the fall?

Surely we fall ill because our bodies are decaying (whilst our spirits are eternally and being saved daily) and this is not something we can choose to resist?

Ive never saw her before Hetty but I did think RTV was getting a lot better but it seems it's still got some to go yet

Does seem a bit at odds though.
Fair enough with her patients, Dr Laura has a job to do.
But she took Flu vaccines to the studios for all the staff etc.
Lesley had hers, but Howard refused.
If Dr.L believed what she was saying why did she offer the vaccine to believers???

I just thought it seemed a bit off, but like I said I maybe picked it up very wrongly, and you know I don't do the health/wealth/prosperity thing..that I don't believe THAT is always the victory.

However I have no wish to argue with /offend anyone, so please remove if you feel it's appropriate.

Sickness Is Just A Temptation?

Here are a couple of passages that I believe illustrate that sickness has nothing to do with temptation.

1 Timothy 5 v 23: Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses (Paul to Timothy)

James 5 v 14-15a: Is anyone among you ill? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.

In both cases, it was understood that Christians do get sick.

maybe this isn't in the same context but Jesus said (and this could be taken as a temptation if left to Dr Laura)
Jesus said, "The poor will always be with you."
