Ecclesiastes 4:15King James Version (KJV)
15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

Ecclesiastes 4:15The Voice (VOICE)
15 I saw all those who live out their lives under the sun flock to the side of a second youth who took the king’s place.

Ecclesiastes 4:16King James Version (KJV)
16 There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 4:16The Voice (VOICE)

16 There seemed to be no limit to all the people who were under his authority. Yet those who will come later will not be happy with him and will refuse to follow him. Even this, you see, is fleeting—power and influence do not last—like trying to pursue the wind.

These are my thoughts.
Our salvation is not based on those who came before us or those who come after us but is based on our own walk with the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 5:1King James Version (KJV)
5 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Ecclesiastes 5:1The Voice (VOICE)

5 Teacher: Watch your step when you enter the house of God. Be ready to listen quietly rather than rushing in to offer up a sacrifice to foolish people, for they have no idea that what they do is evil.

Ecclesiastes 5:2King James Version (KJV)
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Ecclesiastes 5:2The Voice (VOICE)
God knows what is on the inside. Words and actions are not always necessary.

2 Do not be too hasty to speak your mind before God or too quick to make promises you won’t keep, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore, watch your tongue; let your words be few.

These are my thoughts.
If we are not careful our words can get us in trouble, let our words bring praise to the Lord.
