Ecclesiastes 5:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Ecclesiastes 5:5 The Voice (VOICE)

5 In fact, it would be better not to make a vow in the first place than to make it and not fulfill it.

These are my thoughts.
Jesus said let our yes be yes and our no be no, we should not make vows.

Ecclesiastes 5:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

Ecclesiastes 5:6 The Voice (VOICE)

6 Do not let your mouth lead you to sin, and do not claim before the temple messenger that your vow was a mistake. Why should God be angry at the sound of your voice and destroy everything you’ve worked hard to achieve?

These are my thoughts.
We need to watch what we say and how we say it, let our words bring glory to God.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 The Voice (VOICE)

7 Daydreaming and excessive talking are pointless and fleeting things to do, like trying to catch hold of a breath. What good comes from them? It is better to quietly reverence God.

These are my thoughts.
